The news that has currently rocked two battling nations is the surprise marriage announcement of the sensational Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and the Pakistani cricket champ Shoaib Malik last week. How they came to be together is still a mystery to all as the happily engaged couple announced that the wedding preparations were on and they would be having it by the 15th of April. Before we could digest this information and give our warm wishes to the young boy and girl, another scandal was thrown into the way as a woman named Ayesha Sidiqqui stepped in and claimed that she was the lawfully wedded wife of Shoaib Malik. Malik however denies any such “accusation to his clean name” even after the girl has produced the marriage certificate with his signature on it.
Meanwhile the Hindu extremists in India have put a ban on the name of Sania Mirza and are protesting against her marriage, finding any way to break it up. According to an active member of the Bharitiya Hinduvita Association:
“In the 16 crore population of India, couldn’t our “daughter” find the one right man to tie the knot with…we are ashamed at her behavior with our country”.
Such is the fate of the two to-be married couple. As Malik fights the match fixing charges against him and tries to bail himself out Sania prepares for the marriage ceremony. Both have complained of the media harassing them at every hour of the day outside their houses and poking in their privacy at all times.
As the mystery of the supposed ex-wife folds in people wait to see what happens next and whether or not both Shoaib and Sania take their wedding vows.
